What is the Miami Valley DRT?
We are an ecumenical organization comprised of volunteers from various churches in the Miami Valley, OH area. The team has come together to prepare volunteers who can assist victims of natural disasters on short notice.
The team receives funding through Churches involved in the effort which currently include Aley UMC, Centerville UMC, Christ UMC,Germantown UMC, Ginghamburg UMC, Hope UMC, Jacksonburg UMC, Normandy UMC, St. Andrew UMC, Sulfur Grove UMC and Spinning Road Baptist
What we can do, Provide Spiritual Comfort along with (depending on the team composition when we arrive at your site)
- Removing downed trees from storms and shore up house to prevent
further damage to the residence
- Teardown and debris removal after flooding
- Sheetrock work
- Damage Assesments
Do you possess the skills to help with early disaster response and the ability to respond on short notice when needs arrive?
The Miami Valley Disaster Recovery Team is always looking for committed Christian volunteeers and leaders to join the team to help respond to local disasters (typically within a 2-4 hour radius of the church), no special skills are needed to be on the team.

Don't want to Volunteer? You can still support the team by helping us purchase much needed tools to support our mission to help families recover from a Disaster. We have a gift registry set up at Home Depot. You can print off this list, go into your local Home Depot store, pick which items you would like to buy, and proceed to the register.
